So far this semester I have done a lot of research on bioluminescence in design as well as mycoremediation, having come up with a system that can regulate a bioluminescent bacterial environment in a large culture wall with the use of a bioreactor and some filters. I have completed the first iteration of my senior thesis project that will be linked below and seen on the portfolio section of this website.
In the second iteration I plan on expanding the residence and bioluminescent room and cave system to another building that is directly behind the original building used in the first iteration. I will be redesigning the basement and will create a new cave and tunnel system that extends into the adjoining building. I will then design for another residence and create a shared bioluminescent experience that both residences can access and use.
I will be updating this thread with more information once I have completed drawings.
I look forward to extending this project further with a larger space so that I can focus more on the bioluminescent aspects and mycelium cave systems for users suffering with mental health issues and build back a safer environment.
